Dear
School Leader,
The
feedback from the inaugural AND THEN OUR SECOND Leadership Bootcamp
event was amazing! When one participant said,
“I have to say that the Leadership Bootcamp was the
MOST useful leadership course I've been to -
and I've been to a lot"
...........we knew we had to do this again.
So if
you had the chance to attend the most rewarding
training of your career, would you even consider
missing the opportunity?
If you
had the chance to develop your leadership ability
with intensive
coaching, guidance, workshops and ground breaking
information to propel you to the top of your
profession as a Leader in Education, would you
miss the opportunity?
Well, make sure you don’t miss THIS OPPORTUNITY!
I
am passionate about Leadership development -
particularly in Schools because our schools - your
workplace - are at the forefront of developing our
leaders of tomorrow.
In
2003 I wrote the best selling Leadership @
School and Beyond Kit to help teachers
develop leadership skills and ability in students at
their school. This series of programs has had
phenomenal reviews which got me to thinking that not
only do principals and teachers want to help their
students become better leaders but that they want to
become better leaders themselves and develop their
own leadership ability.
But.........a lot of the stuff on offer was so dry
and non-participative and I believe people learn
best when they are having fun and are engaged and
challenged.
So.....in
February 2008 I put together a 2-day fun,
intensive, interactive workshop just for staff in
schools to do just that - develop their leadership
ability in a fun, engaging and challenging way. We
called it the Leadership Bootcamp.
And due
to the incredible feedback we put on another in
August. Now people are asking when we're doing it
again.
So
we're going to put on another Leadership
Bootcamp in 2010.

“I have
to say that the Leadership Bootcamp was the
MOST useful leadership course I've
been to - and I've been to a lot...The Leadership Bootcamp was surprising,
engaging, thought provoking and genuine, as
well as fun! Congratulations.”
Roseanne Byrne, Teacher, Richardson Primary School,
A.C.T.
You Don't Even Have
To Be In A Leadership Position
The
Leadership Bootcamp is of most value for any
leader or prospective leader currently working in
School Education:-
►School
Principals
►Deputy
Principals
►Year
Coordinators
►Department
Coordinators
►Faculty
Heads
►anyone
else who wants to develop Leadership ability and
Lead with Success.
We've
tailored the Bootcamp
specifically for people working in School Education
which means you can be certain the content and
context is suitable to your work environment.
However, the skills and knowledge you take away from
the Bootcamp will also mean that you have the
edge no matter what work environment you find
yourself in, in the future.
Why
A Bootcamp?
When you hear the name Bootcamp, it conjures up exercise – and
that’s exactly what the Leadership Bootcamp
is all about. Quite simply, you’re going to be
exercised like never before.
Don't
worry........No, you won’t be asked to go white-water rafting, or perform hundreds of
sit-ups, scale a climbing wall or even do stair runs
up the Rialto Tower!
However………. you must
arrive prepared to work……intellectually, maybe even
emotionally…. and your values, beliefs and character
may get a bit of a make-over as well! We would also
suggest your priorities may look a little different
after your time with us.
But with work there
is reward.
These two days have been designed to reward those
who commit and participate. You’ll get a thorough
workout but we also want you to leave after 2 days
having experienced:
►
a great deal of fun
while learning at the same time
►
a thorough learning
workout….…..and
most importantly………….
►
a series of brilliant
workshops
that enable you to walk away with some of the best
cutting-edge thinking, strategies and tools you
could ever wish for to accelerate your performance
as a leader.

“The Leadership Bootcamp was
energising, thoughtful and very productive.
It challenged my thinking on leadership
while at the same time affirming my role in
leading my school.”
Jenny Webb, Principal, St
Patrick’s School, New South Wales
Dynamic Speaker and
Trainer
If
you’ve gotten this far you’ll no doubt want to know
who will be delivering the workshops throughout the
Leadership Bootcamp. My name is
Stuart Constable and as an international trainer and
corporate facilitator and Managing Director of
Humark Solutions, I’ll be leading the Leadership
Bootcamp.

For the past 18 years I’ve been delivering programs,
workshops, and coaching to thousands of people who
value life-long learning to achieve their goals. My
qualifications include a Masters Degree in
Education, a Diploma in Training and Assessment
Systems, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
and a Bachelor of Economics Degree. I’ve worked
with some of the largest and most highly respected
organisations in the world, as well as Oxford
University in England, both Babson College and the
College of William and Mary of the USA and the
Thames Business School in Manila.
At
the National Leadership Summit in
2006, I was invited to speak alongside Andrew Demetriou (CEO of the AFL), Rod McGeoch (Chairman of
Sydney Olympics 2000 and Emeritus Professor of Law
at Melbourne University), Tom Gorman (CEO Ford
Australia) and Theresa Gatting (CEO Telecom New
Zealand). At this Summit I was the only
speaker to be invited to deliver two presentations.
Although I deliver training across a wide range of
subject areas, Leadership is my passion.
My specialty is the
development and delivery of complete Leadership
programs and workshops for large organisations and
schools. With three young children - my eldest started school
this year - I am more
passionate than ever about great leadership in
schools.
In June
this year I successfully completed my accreditation
as a Situational Leadership Trainer and
Facilitator. As such I'm now one of the
select few qualified people in Australia to deliver
what is widely regarded as the #1 Model for
Leadership practice.
Join me at the
Leadership Bootcamp and I’ll fast-track your
success as a Leader with my series of entertaining,
challenging and dynamic workshops.
“The Leadership Bootcamp
was brilliant. Completely different from anything
else I have attended. It gave practical solutions to
real problems... I would recommend the Bootcamp to
others.”
Tania Darling, Deputy Head,
Scotch College Junior School, South
Australia
"I rate this as the BEST leadership course I have
ever attended.”
Narelle Barker, Head of Junior School,
Presbyterian Ladies College, Sydney, NSW

What Will Be Covered
At The 2-DAY LEADERSHIP BOOTCAMP?
By
registering for this event and committing to your
own development you will receive two dynamic,
engaging, entertaining, knowledge and skill-building
days that include…………
The
Essential Art Of Leadership Communication
You would be
hard-pressed to find any leader of distinction with
a record of success having been a poor communicator.
Successful Leaders communicate in a way that moves
people to action, touches them emotionally and
inspires, motivates and encourages them to strive
for better.
Essentially, you
‘cannot not communicate’ and we must be mindful of
every message we send to people from the moment we
arrive to work to the time we leave. It is your
responsibility as a Leader to communicate a
consistent message to staff and students, a message
that motivates and empowers them to perform at their
peak
In this session we
will use a Communication Model to illustrate the
opportunities we have to communicate with people and
what it takes to communicate in a way that ensures
people take the steps and move in the direction the
Leader has mapped out. By the end of this session,
there will be little doubt in your mind that
communication is an ongoing process, and that we
must get better at it to truly succeed as a Leader.
Motivating
and Inspiring Your People
What
does it take to guarantee a person’s commitment to
perform at their peak and strive to improve
continuously? The leader is excited, driven,
motivated. But many leaders experience a team that
is not. Motivation is elusive for many leaders and
teams. They know what they want, yet struggle to
create it among their people.
But
not any longer! We’ll take you through tried and
tested strategies supported by rigorous research to
fire-up your team! However, this must be done with
care and with caution. There are traps that leaders
can fall into when attempting to motivate a team. It
can be a minefield, where the wrong step can spell
disaster. We’re going to show you where the ‘mines’
are located so you can step around them and
guarantee your team’s success. This session will
ensure you don’t let yourself or your team down.
The
Vital Characteristics Of Successful Leaders
What
separates the very best leaders from the also rans?
The way to work this out is to firstly look at the
results of the leaders around you, then identify the
ones who are making the real differences as leaders
and study what it is they do, how they do it, and
what they have that makes them so effective.
We’ve
made it our mission to do just that, and we want you
to have access to our vault of research where we’ve
shone the spotlight on leaders from Australia and
around the world and distilled everything they have
to the fundamentals.
Creating
High Performance Teams
Are
Leaders only as good as their followers? Everything
we’re covering at the
Bootcamp is about
creating your success and the success of others –
your team. We will let you in on the secrets that
the very best coaches and managers use but prefer to
keep to themselves. We’ve done the groundwork so
you’ll discover:
►
What separates
winning teams from the second place-getters – there
is a formula and it’s vital you know it
►
The critical steps
your team must follow for any chance of success –
this very well-trodden path, that can take you and
your team from cellar-dwellers to champions has been
traversed by every elite team.
►
The crucial success
elements that every high performance team either
has, or if it doesn’t, MUST create, before it’s too
late. Without them your team is on the ‘critical’
list with little chance of resuscitation.
►
What you must avoid
doing when you’re leading a team – there are 5
golden rules that the majority of Leaders break, and
we can almost guarantee that you’re breaking at
least one of them. This is why Leaders are always
putting out ‘fires’ and feel they have so many
problems to sort out and never have enough time to
do the job.
Keeping
it in Balance – More Time, Less Guilt, Better
Results
What’s life like for a Leader? Usually it’s overworked, stressful, lonely
and not as rewarding as many were told as they rose
through the ranks. Well, it’s critical you keep it
all in balance. Too much focus on any one aspect of
your professional life will only lead to
disappointment and regret elsewhere.
This session will ensure you walk away with all of the tools you need to
enjoy a balanced life – where you get to enjoy the
rewards of career success as well as the joy and
satisfaction of a successful personal life. This is
one area so many Principals tell us is such an
obvious need among school leaders, yet get’s so
little attention. You can’t afford to miss this
session.
The Leadership
Blueprint
This will accelerate your development and
performance as soon as you return to your school.
The Leadership Blueprint will be the plan you carry
with you and refer to all the time - it will be your
constant companion after the Bootcamp!
Why? Because it will contain every step you're going
to take after the Bootcamp to make you an even
better leader. You will return to work with a very
detailed action plan for you to implement
immediately.
We're not leaving it up to you to work out what
you're going to do after you return to school. Let's
be honest - you'll probably find it too hard to do
that with everything else going on. That's why we've
designed and will give you at the Bootcamp the
Leadership Blueprint.
By the time you leave at the end of day 2 you will
have reflected, thought, discussed, identified and
recorded in your Blueprint the exact steps you need
to take to propel you forward. It's an essential
ingredient to your leadership success!
“The Bootcamp
was outstanding and the leadership principles
covered were invaluable."
