An Open Invitation to all School Principals, Deputy Principals, Year Coordinators, Faculty Heads And Other Dedicated Staff in Schools......

"This is Why we Had to Do This Again....and

Help More People to Uncover the Secrets to

Incredible Leadership Success"

Dear School Leader,

The feedback from the inaugural AND THEN OUR SECOND Leadership Bootcamp event was amazing!  When one participant said, “I have to say that the Leadership Bootcamp was the MOST useful leadership course I've been to - and I've been to a lot" ...........we knew we had to do this again.

So if you had the chance to attend the most rewarding training of your career, would you even consider missing the opportunity?

If you had the chance to develop your leadership ability with intensive coaching, guidance, workshops and ground breaking information to propel you to the top of your profession as a Leader in Education, would you miss the opportunity?

Well, make sure you don’t miss THIS OPPORTUNITY!

I am passionate about Leadership development - particularly in Schools because our schools - your workplace - are at the forefront of developing our leaders of tomorrow.

In 2003 I wrote the best selling Leadership @ School and Beyond Kit to help teachers develop leadership skills and ability in students at their school.  This series of programs has had phenomenal reviews which got me to thinking that not only do principals and teachers want to help their students become better leaders but that they want to become better leaders themselves and develop their own leadership ability.

But.........a lot of the stuff on offer was so dry and non-participative and I believe people learn best when they are having fun and are engaged and challenged.

So.....in February 2008 I put together a 2-day fun, intensive, interactive workshop just for staff in schools to do just that - develop their leadership ability in a fun, engaging and challenging way. We called it the Leadership Bootcamp.

And due to the incredible feedback we put on another in August. Now people are asking when we're doing it again.

So we're going to put on another Leadership Bootcamp in 2009.

You Don't Even Have To Be In A Leadership Position

The Leadership Bootcamp is of most value for any leader or prospective leader currently working in School Education:-

            ►School Principals

            Deputy Principals

           Year Coordinators

            Department Coordinators

            Faculty Heads

►anyone else who wants to develop Leadership ability and Lead with Success.

We've tailored the Bootcamp specifically for people working in School Education which means you can be certain the content and context is suitable to your work environment.  However, the skills and knowledge you take away from the Bootcamp will also mean that you have the edge no matter what work environment you find yourself in, in the future.

 Why A Bootcamp?

When you hear the name Bootcamp, it conjures up exercise – and that’s exactly what the Leadership Bootcamp is all about.  Quite simply, you’re going to be exercised like never before.

Don't worry........No, you won’t be asked to go white-water rafting, or perform hundreds of sit-ups, scale a climbing wall or even do stair runs up the Rialto Tower!

However………. you must arrive prepared to work……intellectually, maybe even emotionally…. and your values, beliefs and character may get a bit of a make-over as well!  We would also suggest your priorities may look a little different after your time with us.

But with work there is reward.  These two days have been designed to reward those who commit and participate.  You’ll get a thorough workout but we also want you to leave after 2 days having experienced:

a great deal of fun while learning at the same time

  a thorough learning workout….…..and most importantly………….

a series of brilliant workshops that enable you to walk away with some of the best cutting-edge thinking, strategies and tools you could ever wish for to accelerate your performance as a leader.

Dynamic Speakers and Trainers

If you’ve gotten this far you’ll no doubt want to know who will be delivering the workshops throughout the Leadership Bootcamp.  My name is Stuart Constable and as an international trainer and corporate facilitator and Managing Director of Humark Solutions, I’ll be leading the Leadership Bootcamp.

For the past 18 years I’ve been delivering programs, workshops, and coaching to thousands of people who value life-long learning to achieve their goals.  My qualifications include a Masters Degree in Education, a Diploma in Training and Assessment Systems, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Bachelor of Economics Degree.  I’ve worked with some of the largest and most highly respected organisations in the world, as well as Oxford University in England, both Babson College and the College of William and Mary of the USA and the Thames Business School in Manila.

At the National Leadership Summit in 2006, I was invited to speaking alongside Andrew Demetriou (CEO of the AFL), Rod McGeoch (Chairman of Sydney Olympics 2000 and Emeritus Professor of Law at Melbourne University), Tom Gorman (CEO Ford Australia) and Theresa Gatting (CEO Telecom New Zealand).  At this Summit I was the only speaker to be invited to deliver two presentations.

Although I deliver training across a wide range of subject areas, Leadership is my passion.

My specialty is the development and delivery of complete Leadership programs and workshops for large organisations and schools.  With three young children - my eldest is about to start school next year - I am more passionate than ever about great leadership in schools.

In June this year I successfully completed my accreditation as a Situational Leadership Trainer and Facilitator.  As such I'm now one of the select few qualified people in Australia to deliver what is widely regarded as the #1 Model for Leadership practice.

Join me at the Leadership Bootcamp and I’ll fast-track your success as a Leader with my series of entertaining, challenging and dynamic workshops.

But As They Say…..Wait There’s More!

Troy and Zara from Humour Australia have become two of Australia’s most successful corporate presenters, stand-up comedians and radio announcers.  Hilarious stand-up comedians in their own right, Zara and Troy have shared the stage with the cream of Australian and international comedy acts: Rove McManus, Rich Hall (from the Simpsons), Jimeon, Merrick and Rosso and Bob Franklin to name a few.  Humour Australia work extensively in the corporate market, as well as the Victorian Public Service and more recently, RMIT’s School of Business, Bachelor of Business Entrepreneurship students.

They’ve appeared on Australian and American TV; and together they have written and perform “LoveLife – the World’s First Self-Help Musical” which debuted at the Melbourne Fringe and International Comedy Festivals in 2006/2007.

Zara and Troy will take you on a rollicking journey at the Bootcamp where you’ll not only have loads of fun and no doubt lots of laughs, but they’ll also teach you their own unique way of how you can power up the performance of your people through humour, combining their many years of comic experience with rigorous research and study and outstanding facilitation ability.

Stuart, I'm ready to get registered

What Will Be Covered At The 2-DAY LEADERSHIP BOOTCAMP?

By registering for this event and committing to your own development you will receive two dynamic, engaging, entertaining, knowledge and skill-building days that include…………

The Essential Art Of Leadership Communication

You would be hard-pressed to find any leader of distinction with a record of success having been a poor communicator. Successful Leaders communicate in a way that moves people to action, touches them emotionally and inspires, motivates and encourages them to strive for better.

Essentially, you ‘cannot not communicate’ and we must be mindful of every message we send to people from the moment we arrive to work to the time we leave. It is your responsibility as a Leader to communicate a consistent message to staff and students, a message that motivates and empowers them to perform at their peak

In this session we will use a Communication Model to illustrate the opportunities we have to communicate with people and what it takes to communicate in a way that ensures people take the steps and move in the direction the Leader has mapped out.  By the end of this session, there will be little doubt in your mind that communication is an ongoing process, and that we must get better at it to truly succeed as a Leader.

Humour and Leadership Success - Laughing Your Way to the Top

Our Humour in the Workplace experts Troy and Zara will captivate you and lead you on a journey of discovery that will pay-off handsomely for you as a Leader when you return from the Leadership Bootcamp.

Demonstrating and sharing with you only the latest ideas and techniques they have acquired through research, you will be amazed at the impact a sense of humour can do to your team’s productivity and your performance as a Leader.  They’ll show you exactly the way to do it. Even if you think you’re shocking at remembering jokes and always mess up a punch line, you will walk away an expert on how to accelerate productivity through the awesome power of humour!

Motivating and Inspiring Your People

What does it take to guarantee a person’s commitment to perform at their peak and strive to improve continuously? The leader is excited, driven, motivated. But many leaders experience a team that is not. Motivation is elusive for many leaders and teams. They know what they want, yet struggle to create it among their people.

But not any longer!  We’ll take you through tried and tested strategies supported by rigorous research to fire-up your team! However, this must be done with care and with caution. There are traps that leaders can fall into when attempting to motivate a team. It can be a minefield, where the wrong step can spell disaster.  We’re going to show you where the ‘mines’ are located so you can step around them and guarantee your team’s success.  This session will ensure you don’t let yourself or your team down.

The Vital Characteristics Of Successful Leaders

What separates the very best leaders from the also rans? The way to work this out is to firstly look at the results of the leaders around you, then identify the ones who are making the real differences as leaders and study what it is they do, how they do it, and what they have that makes them so effective.

We’ve made it our mission to do just that, and we want you to have access to our vault of research where we’ve shone the spotlight on leaders from Australia and around the world and distilled everything they have to the fundamentals.

Creating High Performance Teams

Are Leaders only as good as their followers? Everything we’re covering at the Bootcamp is about creating your success and the success of others – your team.  We will let you in on the secrets that the very best coaches and managers use but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ve done the groundwork so you’ll discover:

► What separates winning teams from the second place-getters – there is a formula and it’s vital you know it

► The critical steps your team must follow for any chance of success – this very well-trodden path, that can take you and your team from cellar-dwellers to champions has been traversed by every elite team.

► The crucial success elements that every high performance team either has, or if it doesn’t, MUST create, before it’s too late. Without them your team is on the ‘critical’ list with little chance of resuscitation.

► What you must avoid doing when you’re leading a team – there are 5 golden rules that the majority of Leaders break, and we can almost guarantee that you’re breaking at least one of them.  This is why Leaders are always putting out ‘fires’ and feel they have so many problems to sort out and never have enough time to do the job.

Keeping it in Balance – More Time, Less Guilt, Better Results

What’s life like for a Leader? Usually it’s overworked, stressful, lonely and not as rewarding as many were told as they rose through the ranks.  Well, it’s critical you keep it all in balance. Too much focus on any one aspect of your professional life will only lead to disappointment and regret elsewhere.

This session will ensure you walk away with all of the tools you need to enjoy a balanced life – where you get to enjoy the rewards of career success as well as the joy and satisfaction of a successful personal life. This is one area so many Principals tell us is such an obvious need among school leaders, yet get’s so little attention. You can’t afford to miss this session.

Another 25 Great Reasons Why It Makes Sense

to Train With Stuart and His Team

“I have to say that the Leadership Bootcamp was the MOST useful leadership course I've been to - and I've been to a lot. I'm a former federal public servant, and they used to throw some really expensive twaddle at us that never really 'caught' our imaginations.
The Leadership Bootcamp was surprising, engaging, thought provoking and genuine, as well as fun!  Perhaps a great definition of how we would all like our working lives to be. Congratulations.”

Roseanne Byrne, Teacher, Richardson Primary School, A.C.T.
"I was motivated and provoked to think constructively about innovation and to critically research my own leadership style. I found it extremely worthwhile."

Stephanie Barnett, Deputy Principal, Rangi Ruru Girls School, Christchurch, New Zealand
“A very logical and informative program designed for immediate implementation….very relevant and applicable to current leadership challenges.”

Brett Harvey, Vice Rector Pastoral Care, Padua College, Queensland
“The information presented was all of an excellent standard.”

Kristie Podlich, Head of Department, Glenden State School, Queensland
“Stuart was an excellent presenter – clear, stimulating, engaging, enthusiastic and at times challenging. He made it easy to ask questions and be a part of the learning and to get involved. I rate this as the BEST leadership course I have ever attended.”

Narelle Barker, Head of Junior School, Presbyterian Ladies College, Sydney, NSW
“I am going away rich with ideas and strategies to use with my team…It has helped me to re-evaluate how I deal with my team and be a more effective leader.”

Krystina Pirnke, Deputy Principal, Richardson Primary School, ACT
“The Leadership Bootcamp presented me with an opportunity to stop and assess what my own leadership qualities are. Led superbly by Stuart Constable, we explored ways to motivate teams, be responsive leaders and communicate in a way that improves productivity. It was a great experience – I was energised throughout and thoroughly engaged. Great work.”

Shaun Coates, Year Coordinator, St Columba’s College, Victoria

“Great information and the first time I have been to something that has said it is alright and you need to use a variety of leadership styles.”

Rhonda Jones, Deputy Principal, Yeppoon State School, Queensland
“I really enjoyed the work on creating a high performance team. The information on the stages of building a team was very practical and I can see myself planning this carefully.”

Glenn Morris, Year 11 Coordinator, Doncaster Secondary College, Victoria

“I found the Bootcamp excellent. The material presented was relevant and practical. It has given me strategies that I am keen to use in my role. Overall it has enhanced and affirmed my understanding of leadership and my role as a leader. Stuart was an excellent presenter. He maintained an appropriate pace and engaged the whole room in his presentations.”

Kerry Lestal, Assistant Principal, St Patrick's School, New South Wales
"Very informative and thought provoking. Relevance to position was excellent. Got you thinking and working through ideas to take back to the workplace."

Sue Gaunt, Principal, Margaret River Montessori School, Western Australia
"This is, without doubt the most thought provoking leadership course I have done. I have already begun planning where I now need to head with my team. Stuart is an excellent presenter. I have already recommended the Bootcamp to others."

John Robinson, Head of Junior School, Scotch College, South Australia

“Stuart Constable is an excellent and charismatic speaker. He presents his material in an easy-to-listen-to manner. He involves everyone in his presentations. It was a pleasure to work with him and to be a part of this Bootcamp.”

Clark Bragg, Principal, Mornington Primary School, Dunedin, New Zealand

“Inspiring and informative. Great strategies which I can realistically implement. The question now is not will I change things when I get back to school, but what I’ll change first and which great strategy will I use.”

Sonya Monaghan, Head of Department - Technology, Concordia Lutheran College, Queensland

“The Leadership Bootcamp was brilliant. Completely different from anything else I have attended. It gave practical solutions to real problems; clarified my thinking, allowed me to identify the real issues. I can’t wait to get back to put it into practice what I have learnt. I would recommend the Bootcamp to others.”

Tania Darling, Deputy Head, Scotch College Junior School, South Australia

“This was an interesting opportunity for me to clarify and challenge my emerging leadership skills and gain some additional strategies and ideas to make me more effective in my dealings with others.”

Rachel Geerts, VELS, Elisabeth Murdoch College, Victoria

“I thought it was very worthwhile. So often in schools ‘good teachers’ are promoted to leadership positions without any training in leadership. This is the first time in my 6 years as a Head of Department that I have been able to focus on this and had real instruction.”

Jodie Moore, Head of English, The Rockhampton Grammar School, Queensland

“I enjoyed the structure and pace of the event. The sessions were informative and made me reflect upon my current practice and future direction…I would highly recommend this Bootcamp to future participants.”

Andrew Lawrence, Yarra Valley Grammar School, Victoria

“I have gained some great tools to put some much needed processes into place back at the school. It reinforced my beliefs on my leadership characteristics and provided reflection on areas I need to develop.”

Cath Jeffrey, Deputy Principal, Mirani State High School, Queensland

“The Leadership Bootcamp was energising, thoughtful and very productive. It challenged my thinking on leadership while at the same time affirming my role in leading my school.”

Jenny Webb, Principal, St Patrick’s School, New South Wales

“I feel re-energised and inspired about the leadership I want to provide in the future.”

Josie Zanic, Year Coordinator, St Columba’s College, Victoria

“The Bootcamp provides you with an opportunity to re-evaluate your leadership role. All too often we are busy developing our curriculum so this was a refreshing change.”

Rebecca O’Grady, Year Coordinator, Concordia Lutheran College, Queensland

“There was a great deal of information covered in the 2 days. It was good to have challenged current practices and the chance to reflect on what’s working and what can be improved.”

Kim Sloane, Deputy Principal, Northcross Intermediate, Auckland, New Zealand

“I found the Bootcamp an excellent management tool, which I will be able to utilise in my everyday position at the college.”

Jill Rashleigh, Deputy Principal, Peace Lutheran College, Queensland

“The Bootcamp was outstanding and the leadership principles covered were invaluable. Many relevant areas that leaders face in their role of leading people to produce quality in any workplace were covered. Leaders from anywhere should attend the Leadership Bootcamp.”

Guy Lawson, Principal, Gold Coast Christian College
